Treatment Plan
- 01
Step One: Find Out The Source Of The Disease
During the consultation, the doctor will first determine the cause of the pain and dysfunction, assess the severity of the condition, and rule out the need for surgery or emergency treatment. Evaluation when necessary: digital X-ray, CT, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasonography, bone density examination (DXA), gait and motor function analysis.
- 02
Step Two: Multidisciplinary Joint Assessment
It depends on the situation. The case can be jointly evaluated by the Department of Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Rehabilitation Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Pain Medicine, and Medical Imaging.
- 03
Step Three: Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnosis, Treatment And Conditioning
Based on syndrome differentiation, imaging, and functional assessment, the treating team formulates an individualized plan combining acupuncture, tuina, moxibustion, and Chinese herbal medicine, along with a personalized exercise rehabilitation program. The first phase of treatment usually lasts 4–8 weeks, with regular reassessments during this period, and a gradual transition from remission to functional recovery based on recovery.

Home Rehabilitation Guidance After Treatment In China
The treatment plan you formulated during your stay in China can also be continued after you return to your country.
Personalized Health Assessment
These assessments you completed while in the hospital are not only the basis for the doctor to formulate a plan, but also the baseline for your self-management after returning to your country:
- Pain and functional level assessment: Assess the extent to which bone and joint problems affect daily activities
- Posture and gait/movement function analysis: Identify postural and movement abnormalities related to bone and joint problems
- Bone density and nutritional status assessment: Assess osteoporosis risk and nutritional support needs
- Quality of life and sleep assessment: Understand the impact of bone and joint problems on your overall life
- Psychological stress assessment: Understand the emotional impact of chronic pain
- Lifestyle and fall risk assessment: Identify functional impairment and fall risk in everyday settings

The plan based on the assessment results is designed with the execution conditions after you return to your country in mind, and each item can be continued in the home environment:
- Traditional Chinese Medicine Comprehensive Rehabilitation Program Continues: Comprehensive conditioning programs such as acupuncture, tuina, and moxibustion formulated based on syndrome differentiation results can be continued after returning home or the local Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners may be guided by doctors to continue.
- Sports rehabilitation and Traditional Chinese Medicine exercises: Traditional exercise programs such as Baduanjin and Tai Chi that can be practiced continuously in the home environment
- Home exercise and posture management plan: Daily posture adjustments and home exercises designed for your type of bone and joint problem

Frequently asked questions
Can Traditional Chinese Medicine "cure" me?
We do not promise a cure; the goals of chronic musculoskeletal disease are to relieve symptoms, improve function, and slow the progression of degeneration. Studies suggest that acupuncture may help relieve chronic low back pain and that Tai Chi may help with knee osteoarthritis. However, the efficacy varies from person to person and should be used as a supplement to standard treatment.
Is TCM treatment safe?
Under standard operation, there are fewer adverse reactions and it carries less risk of dependence than long-term oral analgesics. Traditional Chinese Medicine requires attention to liver and kidney function and drug interactions. Please bring the entire medication list with you for evaluation by a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner. Do not stop taking the medicine on your own.
Are language services provided?
We will arrange a medical interpreter to accompany you throughout the entire process, from pre-arrival to follow-up, with our team ensuring smooth communication.
How long does it take to see results?
Most patients experience pain relief or improved function within 2–4 weeks, but recovery from chronic musculoskeletal disease is a gradual process and usually requires completion of the first phase (4–8 weeks) of treatment to achieve stable results. Effectiveness varies from person to person, depending on the severity of the condition and the degree of cooperation.
