Treatment Plan
- 01
Step One: Comprehensive Assessment
First clarify the tumor diagnosis, treatment goals and emergency risks, and then establish a re-evaluable baseline from the dimensions of symptoms, functions, nutrition, psychology, TCM syndromes and medication safety. Evaluate when necessary: tumor diagnosis and treatment goals, physical fitness and treatment tolerance, symptoms and treatment side effects, nutrition and muscle function, psychological, social and care needs, TCM syndrome differentiation and medication verification.
- 02
Step Two: Multidisciplinary Joint Assessment
It depends on the situation. The case can be jointly evaluated by the Department of Medical Oncology/Surgery/Radiotherapy, Pathology, Imaging and Molecular Diagnosis, Traditional Chinese Medicine Oncology, Clinical Pharmacy, Nutrition and Rehabilitation Medicine, Psychological Oncology and Palliative Support.
- 03
Step Three: Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnosis, Treatment And Conditioning
After completing the pre-review of medical records, pathology and imaging, and hospital evaluation, the oncology MDT will determine the main line of standardized treatment, and then incorporate appropriate Traditional Chinese Medicine, pharmacy, nutrition, rehabilitation and psychological support. The course of treatment is adjusted synchronously with the anti-tumor treatment stage.

Home Rehabilitation Guidance After Treatment In China
The treatment plan you formulated during your stay in China can also be continued after you return to your country.
Personalized Health Assessment
These assessments you completed while in the hospital are not only the basis for the doctor to formulate a plan, but also the baseline for your self-management after returning to your country:
- Pathology, staging, molecular information and previous treatment verification: Complete information confirming diagnosis and current stage of treatment
- Physical fitness, comorbidities and treatment tolerance assessment: Assess ability to tolerate subsequent treatments
- Assessment of pain, fatigue, gastrointestinal and sleep symptoms: System records current symptom burden
- Nutrition, weight, muscle function and swallowing assessment: Identifying malnutrition, sarcopenia and cachexia risk
- Anxiety, depression, family care and social needs assessment: Understand psychological and social support needs
- TCM syndromes, complete medication and interaction assessment: Check for potential interactions with Traditional Chinese Medicines, herbal medicines, supplements and antineoplastic drugs
Personalized Health Intervention
The plan based on the assessment results is designed with the execution conditions after you return to your country in mind, and each item can be continued in the home environment:
- Traditional Chinese Medicine syndrome differentiation prescription continues: After the multi-disciplinary team evaluates the safety of Traditional Chinese Medicine prescriptions, you can continue to take the medicine after returning home, and the doctor will provide remote guidance and adjustment according to the treatment stage and symptom changes.
- Home management of symptoms and side effects: At-home methods for common problems such as nausea, fatigue, loss of appetite, peripheral neurological symptoms, etc.
- Nutrition and weight maintenance program: Family dietary regimen based on tumor type and stage of treatment, focusing on weight maintenance and muscle function protection
- Mobility maintenance guidance: A progressive activity plan designed based on physical assessment results to help maintain daily activities during treatment and recovery
- Suggestions for connecting with local oncologists: The doctor will give suggestions for collaboration with your local oncologist to ensure the continuity of collaborative TCM treatment and standardized treatment.
Frequently asked questions
Can Traditional Chinese Medicine replace surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted or immunotherapy?
No. Tumor treatment should be based on pathology, staging, molecular characteristics and patient status to select standardized plans; Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture and physical and mental intervention are only used as coordinated treatments after safety evaluation, and cannot delay or replace surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, targeted and immunotherapy. We should be wary of claims that "unilaterally cure all cancers" or require discontinuation of standard treatments.
Can I take Traditional Chinese Medicine and health supplements at the same time during chemotherapy, targeted or immunotherapy?
It should not be used alone. Traditional Chinese Medicine, herbal medicines, supplements and special foods may affect the absorption, metabolism or excretion of anti-tumor drugs, or add risks to liver and kidney damage and bleeding. A list of all prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, Traditional Chinese Medicines, health products and teas should be submitted, and the oncologist, Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner and pharmacist will jointly decide to continue, suspend or adjust.
Does "surviving with cancer" mean no more active treatment?
No. It emphasizes that for tumors that cannot be completely eliminated or require long-term management, disease control, symptoms, functions, and quality of life must be taken into consideration; it does not mean letting the tumor grow, nor does it exclude appropriate surgery, radiotherapy, or systemic treatment. Whether to adjust anti-tumor treatment is still decided by MDT based on efficacy, risks and patient wishes.
How to arrange the initial diagnosis, treatment course, multidisciplinary and overseas follow-up?
For the first consultation, please prepare pathology, imaging, staging, previous regimens, efficacy/side effects, and complete medication/supplement list. When you arrive at the hospital, you must first check the diagnosis and complete MDT, and then add appropriate Traditional Chinese Medicine, nutrition, rehabilitation, pharmacy and psychological support. The treatment course is arranged according to the anti-tumor cycle, and can be adjusted remotely according to review, symptoms and medication changes after returning home. In case of emergency, you should seek medical treatment at the nearest hospital.
